Current Needs
The nursery block is a bare shell of a building and needs to be brightened up by painting the walls and putting up coloured posters. It also needs to be furnished with toys to enable the children to learn through play as well as from the blackboard.
The very limited outside play area is in need of equipment such as swings and climbing frames.
Revival Nursery
The Revival Nursery caters for 80 local children and the youngest champions aged between 3 and 5 years. They are divided into two classes of 40 children referred to as the 'baby' and 'top' classes. They attend mornings only between 0730 hrs and 1200 hrs.
Right from the start at age 3 lessons are in English and cover the basics of reading, writing, numbers and art.
They have a mid-morning break during which they are fed a porridge drink.
After years of being moved from room to room as the Centre's schools have expanded, the Nursery finally got it's own block in April 2009 (see picture opposite).
