The Revival Centre in Matugga, Uganda

The church brings people from all tribes and backgrounds together in Christian worship and is at the heart of community life. Associated with the church is a ladies group that runs projects to help widows and the mothers of poor families start up small businesses to make a living. Ivan's twin sister Jane is heavily involved in this work.

The Revival Team

As supporters it is our privilege to work alongside Ivan, Ruth and Jane in order to help them meet the needs of some of the poorest people in Uganda.

Current Needs and How You Can Help

Currently income is not sufficient to meet many of the basic needs of the children such as food, clothes and beds. The children are poorly nourished and susceptible to illness and disease which threatens their pursuit of that all-important education. Staff salaries are not always able to be paid in full or on time. Many staff stay due to their commitment to the children and in the hope of being paid more reliably in the future but many have families of their own to support.

The facilities and equipment of the schools need to be improved to enable the full range of subjects to be taught. The orphan home and toilet blocks need to be extended and improved to provide civilised and safe living conditions for the orphans. There have been a number of fires in school dormitories in Uganda and the safety of the children and security of the site are big issues.

The ever rising price of food has led Pastor Ivan to launch an Agriculture Project to establish a farm to improve the nutrition of the children, generate income and teach farming skills. There is a long term aim of developing the farm to the extent that it substantially or fully supports the Revival Centre and provides all at Revival with the dignity and confidence that comes from being self-sufficient.

If you would like to help Pastor Ivan, Ruth and Jane give a future to orphans and the poor of Matugga please read the pages of this website and the 'How You Can Help' section and respond as you feel called. What we may consider to be a small amount of money in the UK goes a long way in Uganda and can change lives.
