Greetings and thank you to all our loyal supporters. We hope that you are all keeping safe and well. Your continued support is highly valued, no more so than in these uncertain times. Like many countries, Uganda is now facing big restrictions to try and slow down the spread of Covid-19 with the first cases being reported just over 2 weeks ago. On Friday March 20th the Ugandan Government compulsorily closed all schools and universities for an initial period of 30 days, this was shortly followed by churches and meeting places. Travel restrictions and ‘lockdown’ measures have also been introduced. On Monday 22nd March all the children and staff had left Revival Centre and returned to their homes, apart from those who live on site and 7 or 8 champions who have no safe home environment. Ivan and Allen have again generously opened up their home to these champions with another staying with one of the school matrons. We were fortunately able to send our monthly gift out just before lock down was initiated, so Ivan was able to pay most of the staff before they went home. On Monday 6th April we managed to send more money to pay the remaining staff and to buy food for the students who are being cared for by Ivan and Allen. We will keep you up to date with further news as we hear more. Please be advised the plans for the June visit have been cancelled along with any fund raising events planned for the next few months. The GACAH team really value your support and prayers for the children and staff at Revival during these difficult times. Debbie Walker and Martin Smith On behalf of the GACAH trustees |
